Half-Day Historic & Culinary Walking Tour
Taste & Explore Berlin

This tour brings together two of my biggest passions: food and history. As we explore Berlin’s diverse culinary scene, we’ll also walk through one of the city’s most historically significant neighborhoods, where Jewish life has flourished since the 17th century.
What to Expect:
🍽️ A food-focused journey: We’ll stop at 5–8 outstanding local eateries, from a sourdough bakery to the best macarons in town, plus Vietnamese bánh mì, French éclairs, and Berlin’s famous currywurst.
🏛️ A walk through history: As we move from stop to stop, we’ll pass key historical landmarks and Jewish heritage sites, but this isn’t a WWII tour.
Tour Highlights:
- Hackescher Markt – Our meeting point and home to great food stands on Thursdays and Saturdays, featuring German, Turkish and other nations street food.
- Site of Berlin’s First Synagogue – A brief stop to acknowledge this key piece of Jewish history.
- Hackesche Höfe Courtyards – A beautiful historic area where we’ll enjoy incredible French éclairs.
- Jewish Immigrant Quarter – Explore the courtyards that were central to Jewish life in the early 20th century.
- Pastry & Bakery Stop – Sample top-quality European baked goods from a renowned sourdough bakery.
- Vietnamese Bánh Mì – Experience the influence of Berlin’s vibrant Vietnamese community, one of the city’s largest immigrant groups.
- Jewish Heritage Sites – Along the way, we’ll see the Rabbinical Seminary of Adas Israel and the former Jewish girls’ school.
- Macarons & More – Taste the best macarons in Berlin, and if time allows, visit an Austrian bakery or a German delicatessen.
